Hi, I pronounce my first name in Spanish, which sounds like Hanna, with an S in the front. For my last name, think of an Etch A Sketch and María. Combine them, and voilà, you have the closest pronunciation.
I am originally from Chorrillos, Perú.
I'm fluent in Spanish and English and have an associate's degree in Human Resources. Project Management, Leadership & Decision Making are my current areas of interest as I finish my degree and coaching certification.
In the military, I’m the Religious Affairs Senior Enlisted Leader at US Southern Command, a combatant command responsible for providing contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. I promote US relations through religious leader engagements, interfaith dialogue with faith-based NGOs, and human rights advocacy.
The views and external links presented in this space are my own and do not represent the views of DoD or its components.

COVID Vaccine Religious Accommodation - We had short notice to develop a process and support the members who requested this exemption. We had a system in less than 72 hours and processed 86 requests across Hawaii and the mainland. We devoted about 8 hours per customer to ensure we provided the best support. We listened to over 300 customers express their concerns and frustrations and helped them decipher the process for themselves or their direct reports. The chaplains interviewed those that pursued the exemption and verified that they had a complete package. We were able to accomplish this in less than four weeks. The Air Force has only approved less than 15 requests, while 3,600 have been denied. More info here.
